Skanda Rehabilitation - Inpatient Services
Skanda Rehabilitation Center offers specialized rehabilitative therapies for inpatients with the objective of accelerating recovery, enhance functional potential, and augment coping skills. Our inpatient rehabilitative therapies includes Post-Acute Rehabilitation, Long Term Care and Ventilated Patient Care. We offer tailored program designed and given to each patient to closely work and address the disorder or injury.
Post-Acute Rehabilitation
Skanda Rehabilitation Center offers post-acute rehabilitation to patients recovering from a recent hospitalisation and still require intensive rehabilitation. Our expert team oversees the functional improvements and reduces possible complications and hospital re-admissions to provide rehabilitation sustainable rehabilitative outcomes. In our post-acute rehabilitation, the patient will take an active role in making decisions working together with the team so that the patient achieves their goals and maximum level of independence.

Long Term Care
We provide personalized care for patients who are chronically ill and require an extensive care in a non-hospitalized environment.
Our structured management program help meets both the medical and non-medical needs of people with a chronic illness or disability who cannot care for themselves for long periods. Our patient-centered care concentrates on relieving the distress of patients, using a holistic approach to rehabilitate in an engaging environment to ensure that patients are attended to with utmost care.

Ventilated Patient Care
We help patients with ventilator by providing respiratory care with a committed respiratory therapist so that patients are tended to whenever required. The focus is on helping patients to improve their ability to breathe comfortably, through education, medication, and transition to ventilator independence.
Our interdisciplinary team works as one to ensure that the patient receives an individualized plan while regaining function and reintegrate them back into the community.

Neuro Rehabilitation
Our Skanda Rehab team focuses on returning the patient to the highest level of functioning possible, while emphasizing gait & balance improvement, postural coordination, strengths and accommodating unique needs. A team of certified therapists works together to provide exceptional, individualized care for the patients with:
- Spinal cord injury
- Traumatic Brain injury
- Stroke
- Multiple sclerosis
- Parkinson's disease
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
- Polyneuropathies such a Guillian-Barre syndrome or chronic inflammatory polyneuropathy

How can we help?
Patients in the IRP receive 3 hours of structured treatment daily or 3 times a week. The goal of this intensive program is to return the patient to the highest level of functioning possible after acute management from the inpatient facility. Typically a patient in the IRP will receive multi physiotherapies with sophisticated hands-on therapy based on neuro-development therapy and occupational therapy with a close monitoring from full-time medical doctors (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation).
Soft Tissue Mobilization
Soft tissue mobilization is a part of manual manipulation of soft tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to relieve the pain and regain its functions. Physiotherapists who are specialized in musculoskeletal field perform soft tissue mobilization technique as a manual modality of physiotherapy to provide the patients with the following benefits:
- Muscle relaxation
- Vein and limp circulation
- Edema reduction
- Stretch effect on tissue
- Stabilizing beneath a subcutaneous damaged tissue
- Enhancing skin’s nutrition using lubricants
- Removing excreta through perspiration
- Removing a dried skin on injured tissue

- Effect by sensory receptor’s stimulation in skin and subcutaneous tissue.
